Introduction to Wireless Device Programming

Goals

This workshop provides a technical, hands-on exploration of many different wireless technologies. Students will learn through lecture and hands-on exercises how to create many types of wireless applications for a wide variety of devices.

After completing this seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the wide variety of wireless technologies across networks and devices.
  • Explore the business value of wireless technologies.
  • Create wireless web applications using WML and WMLScript.
  • Deliver dynamic voice applications using VoiceXML.
  • Build secure wireless applications.
  • Architect wireless solutions for enterprise systems.

Software and web developers who wish to learn and apply a variety of techniques for programming wireless devices.
